Outback Carbon

Outback Carbon manages its tree plantations in parallel with farming operations to ensure both can operate in coexistence.

Outback Carbon has extensive experience in the carbon industry and in managing all aspects of offset projects, from feasibility to implementation, reporting and compliance.

The team’s expertise in the industry spans restoration ecology, forestry, agriculture, project management and compliance reporting. In addition, expert subject consultants and contractors are utilised when specialised services are required.

Property and plantations

Outback Carbon has identified, analysed and successfully executed a number of property acquisitions in the WA Wheatbelt and Mid West.

Since 2021, Outback Carbon has acquired more than 10,000 hectares (ha) which have been used to establish carbon project plantations in staged plantings. Around 3,000 ha were successfully established across the 2022 and 2023 planting seasons, and a further 8,000 ha in 2024.

Arid Land Carbon

Outback Carbon has assessed several rangeland properties for carbon, progressing a selection of these to Human Induced Revegetation (HIR) project registration.

While the Integrated Farm and Land Management (IFLM) Method is being developed and HIR is in transition, the team are also looking into soil carbon and other carbon development concepts in arid rangelands.
